PICKUP ROUTES

CLICK FOR LARGER VERSION

"A" Route - Red; I-77 to Charleston, WV and I-64 to Louisville.

"B" Route - Green; I-40 to Nashville.

"C" Route - Blue; I-85 to Atlanta, I-75 to Chattanooga and I-24 to Nashville.

"ALT" Routes - Tan; Feeder Interstates, combining routes if possible.

We generally do not plan pickups further west than Nashville or Louisville, but each haul is different, and we may be able to accommodate you. Just discuss with us in advance.

We can essentially stop anywhere along our designated Interstate routes to pick up your bike. Sometimes we can go right to your home. Each haul is unique and we will try to accommodate your requests for pickup as best we can. We will not guarantee home pickups, but if you are close to the Interstates shown, or there are several bikes picked up at the same location near one of our routes, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please discuss this with us as we plan our rides. Remember - we may actually be ON a ride when you try to contact us!

As other riders book their tours, we may eliminate some Interstates as possibilities, for example, if 2 riders from Atlanta book a tour, we will no longer consider the Red Route through West Virginia for pickups. Book early to ensure best pickup availability. As long as we can park a large pickup and 28' Trailer long enough to load a bike, we'll meet you there at a designated time. Wal-Marts, KMarts, Large Shopping Centers and any big parking lot near an Interstate are best. We'll look at your suggested pickup on Google Maps to determine feasability.

Remember, we try NOT to back up this rig if possible!

How many times have you snickered at people who haul their bikes to a rally in the same state they live? Well, I have - but on trips planned out west, I really wished I had a trailer to get me out there fast. By now I've ridden across country 5 times, and, frankly, the thrill of the cross country ride is gone. Everyone should do it at least once, but here's the beauty of what we're offering to East Coast riders.

We limit our hauls to six bikes other than my own. It's the limit of our trailer, and keeps our group limited to a manageable number.

We will coordinate with you how to get your bike onto our trailer. We can accept your bike at any time prior to the trip in Durham, NC. Depending on where my riders are from, we will schedule a route and pickup dates/times in many Mid-Atlantic cities. We do not offer home-pickup unless it is convenient to our haul route. There may be situations where you will need to meet us along our route - drop off your bike, and you will need to set up a ride back home. This is all best discussed in person, as plans need to stay flexible depending on home cities of my riders.

We offer three different main routes for our pickup locations. Depending on who first signs up for a particular ride, that will determine which route we have to take as we haul out west. These routes are somewhat flexible and can be merged to some degree. Once sufficient bikes dictate our haul route, only the cities on that route will be available for pickup. Other cities along that route, indicated by (*) on our list may be inserted by advance agreement. Call to discuss with us - this has to remain flexible.

It is VERY important that when we discuss your pick up and you are given a date/time for pickup, that you arrive on time and prepared to watch you bike being loaded. We'll ask you to acknowledge a proper load and tie-down. Though we are fully insured for the haul of your bike, we prefer you watch it and agree it has been satisfactorily loaded and secured. Because of load balancing in the trailer, your bike MAY be moved to other positions in the trailer as we load more bikes, but using the same methods that you observe.

Your bike is carefully loaded in this 6-bike enclosed trailer - nobody sees YOUR bike on a trailer! We don't emblazon our company name all over the trailer or the truck - its an anonymous haul to our starting point. You arange for your flight to Denver - usually a fairly cheap round trip flight from anywhere, with several non-stops available. When you arrive in Denver, there's a constant shuttle bus to our hotel, where you meet us and supervise the off-load of your bike - it is always under lock and key until you arrive. Again, it may be moved out of the way to off-load an earlier arrival client. Most shipping companies require you to give your bike to them a week or two in advance of your drop off - we take 1-2 days because we drive direct, and your bike is under our control the entire way - not so with most shipping companies!

Once we have picked up all six bikes, (always prior to either Nashville, TN or Louisville, KY depending on which route we're taking), the remainder of the haul is under lockdown and direct to Denver. Your GUIDE and your CHASE DRIVER are within eyesight of your bike at all times.

The same conditions apply to your return haul back home after the trip. You will be given a date when to expect pickup - typically on the second or third day after our ride is over - and you will be given phone calls enroute to indicate exactly what time we will be at your pick-up point. Again, it is important to retrieve your bike when we arrive to prevent delays further down the line.
