Here at Muthuh's Rides of a Lifetime, you don't have to wait til you get out on a ride to meet your Guide. I AM the guide. I only offer a few tours because I personally guide each and every ride myself. I KNOW the routes and what to do along the way. I've been in 49 states and ridden my bike in 45 of them. As I keep going back to my favorite spots guiding tours, it'll be difficult to get those last few states, but I DO know where the good stuff is.

I've been riding motorcycles since 1967 when I took a part-time job at a bike rental shop on Fort Lauderdale Beach. That summer, I blew a $1000 gift from my grandmother on almost daily rentals - and I've been on a bike ever since. In 1990 I rode my first Harley and haven't even ridden on any other brand since. I'm not a Brand Snob and have guided many other flavors since 1999 out west - but Harleys are my choice.

I'm married over 33 yrs, and from time to time my wife will fly out and join me on some of these rides. I have an Internet Business back home that allows me to manage work on the road from my laptop, so there will be off-times when I get to work from the cabin on these rides - nothing personal!

We get a lot of inquiries from women riders worried about their safety on these guides tours. While I do not specifically offer a bodyguard service, I AM ex-Military (Navy '74-'76), ex-Law-enforcement (Broward County Sheriff's Department '76-'79), and spent most of my adult life in Corporate Security for the second largest pharmaceutical company in the world. During this time I obtained the nationally accredited certification CPP, or Certified Protection Professional, and was the Executive Director for Durham, NC's Crimestoppers Program. So you're safe with me!

If you're considering going with us as a lady or group of ladies, I'd be happy to offer references as well. I've had several women riders on my guided rides and welcome the opportunity to show you my "out-west".

As your Road Captain, I will try to accommodate your riding styles, but generally, I stick to speed limits or slightly over - and much less when we're going through scenic country. I stop often, mostly for picture opportunities. I like when everyone bunches up in the city to keep from breaking up, but feel free to stretch out on the backroads. All of you will have a map and destination for each day, so if you get left behind, or you want to pull ahead, be my guest. I've found that you'll get the best ride staying with the group, though. Those Tavern stops are usually impromptu!

You can get a much better feel for who I am and how I ride by browsing through my Muthuh's Rides website - there's 10 years worth of travel journal rides in there. I may cuss and smoke a cigar and have a drink around the campfire, but you'll find me accommodating to your quirks as well. In the end, we're just a bunch of bike riders out to enjoy a Ride of a Lifetime... hope you come join us some day.

Along with me as your Road Captain - there'll be a Chase Truck Guide helping me with luggage and supplies, and to be on-hand in case of an emergency. Some days, the driver will be your guide, as I follow in the Chase Truck, and some of the optional evening rides will be guided by the driver as well. More on the Chase Truck and driver in our HAUL section.
